The Night Personality

by NightPersonality   Jul 29, 2007

Soft words of love were uttered in greedy ears,

Sweet kisses threatened to assuage her fears.

Her eyes close in longing pain,

Her head turns away towards the silent rain.

Delicate lashes move to regard a pale face of flaws,

Orange, pink, and reds of beauty describe the dawn.

Nimble emotions pass across her face,

Tumbling, milky white curtains mock her with dances of lace.

Morbid thoughts bloom anew within her emerald eyes,

Overwhelming sorrow combusted from her throat in pitiful cries.

Vain Finches brood and preen in the first of soft light,

Enigmas of darkness retreat with ruthless night.

"Sshh... don't move. Let's just lie here a little longer. It's too early to wake up."
"Who are you?"
"Does it really matter?"
"...no."

So very descriptive and yet not over done, none of it sounds forced and it flows very well, great poem!
