Fear

by sara   Jul 29, 2007

Fear.
What is the cause of such a thing?
Violence that shakes my very being?
Tears that never came,
Make me question my morality.
These cycles in this dungeon,
Make me question this reality.
Where do we run,
When our legs have been cut out from under us?
What solice is there in broken bottles,
And broken hearts...
What causes this emotion?
Devotion to my cause so passionate.
Compassionate humans scurry to find answers.
But why?...
Why question what is?
What always was...
Fear-
Causes me to weigh my options.
Anger that is driven by sadness,
Madness in the heart of all of this-
Heartless kings bow to currency's dark lure.
What causes this fear?
Ask me again, when you have shown me your-
True colors.
I searched so long, and now,
There's no more asking how-
I disappear completely!
My Fear is what defeats me...
Fear.
What is the cause of such a thing?...

Wrote this quite a while back. It's a little different style than what I usually write. I am not as confident about this poem as I am about others, but whatever- poetry is about expression first.
