The tears are shed
The feelings heartfelt
The times of sorrow
These times war has dealt

Away from your family
When you need them most
They don't understand
All they ask
When will you come home?

Mom I don't know

But I'm supposed to fight

It's for our freedom
For your way of life

Sometimes unfair
As I watch my friends pass away

This fight never ending

But these colors don't fade
And dint ever forget that

Whatever they need of me
