A Devil's Trick

There once was a boy who was sent to hell
He was given a task never meant to tell
He had to find a girl to take his place
One he could lie to her face
She was to fall in love with him
In the end her life would turn dim
If he chose the wrong girl both would pay the price
One would have to sacrifice
Hand over their life to the devil below
While the other cries in woe
That would only happen if he found his true love
His true angel from above
If he chose that girl he would be scarred with grief
It wouldn't be her was his belief
Any other and he was safe from harm
He could hold his love safely in his arms
He went out and found a girl
He protected her from everything in the world
He told her he loved her forever more
He pulled out her seats and opened her door
He made her fall in love so deep
He sat there watching until she fell asleep
One year later he told her a lie
One that made him forever cry
He told her the devil gave him one year
He hugged her and said she had nothing to fear
He was given time to be with the girl of his dream
He told her to smile so he could see it gleam
That's when he said things he didn't know was true
He have her a kiss and said I love you
He said he never wanted to let her go
He said he had to let her know
He said he was sorry for having to leave like this
He said he wasn't one that she should miss
Then the devil came up and took him away
But something awful happened one day
She went to the devil who said to to hell instead
Then your lover will be back from the dead
She told the devil to make the switch
The devil smiled at his little glitch
When all was done the boy was grief
He told the devil I thought I would have relief
The devil said lies I do not tell
You mearly led your true love to hell
