    My sentiments exactly! I like to sing Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke when I sing karaoke. The new stuff doesn’t move me. Nice writing!

    I have to agree with you on this one ,music has changed so much over the years ,no longer is there passion within music.Very well done on writing this poem.

    A write that truly captures the feelings of many towards music. What I liked best was the 6th stanza:

    For when someone whistles a tune,
    From deep down in their heart,
    Tis old familiar melodies,
    I hear their lips impart.

    Eventually some songs of today will become old familiar melodies, but I'll hang on to mine!

    Interesting piece.
