Two Weeks Too Late

by allidoiswrite82   Jul 30, 2007

I sat and contemplated
The reason you decided
To go, I sat and examined every
Facet of our time

I recalled you’re unanswered
Request, each and every one
And what I should have done
Only a half a month too late

I found the closet that
Held all my broken promises
And all of my inattentive opinions
That she hid and stored away
Only fourteen days too late

I daydreamed of nights
I found company with
Anyone but her seeing effect
In my own self destructive cause
Only 336 hours too late

Segments of ignoring her
As if she never existed
Flashed in front of my eyes
The degeneration of my relationship
Only 20,160 minutes too late

A mere shell of the man
I was, my heart completely
And utterly useless
Better for grounded feed
Then inside my unworthy chest
Only two weeks too late
