Street Of Fading Light

by Fixxxer   Jul 30, 2007

Orange mist rolls over the dark horizon.
My eyes adapt to a silvery night..
A strange feeling surrounds me in silence
As I walk down a street of fading light.
Rows of black houses and gnarled trees
cast menacing shadows across my path.
I cut through the tangled web feeling cold,
feeling empty, feeling sad and feeling alone.
This street I'm on just goes on forever.
One silhouette of one man with one heart.
A heart that beats slower as the days pass.
A man forever walking on broken glass.
Why must I reenact the same old scene,
and watch pain turn to a Smokey dream.
Why must I run through the dark on my own
and embrace the shadows of my tainted soul.
Have my hands become too frigid to hold?
Can you see anything real in my eyes..?
Have I faded entirely from view..?
Guess I'll always be nothing to you...

Wow this is such an intense write.
I see this happening in my mind, excellent choice of words which makes the imagery so good. The ending is so bitter sad i love it!
