If I asked...

by Blood Angel   Jul 30, 2007

If I asked
Would you forget me?
Would you really take a moment and see
I'm not the one you cut me out to be?

If I asked
Would you turn and walk away
With nothing more to say?

If I asked
Would you cease to be my friend?
I'm only protecting you, you know

If I asked
Would you head my warning?
And never look back?

If I asked
Would you feel remorse as I'm found dead?
No matter what I may have said?

If I asked
Would you be able to stand?
On your own two feet
Instead of leaning on me?

If I asked
Would you say goodbye?
To me now
Before I say mine?

If I asked?
Would you let me die peacefully?
Tonight
Without regrets of you in my dreams?

If I asked
Would you set me free?

If I asked you dear friend
Would you please?
Live for me?

Only if I asked...

I spent a lot minutes on it, but I still like it.

Very nice I loved the flow and your style. The rhetorical questions really engaged me to read and ponder. You have nicely written it with a nice flow...just dnt bother about the category, a poem is a poem :)
