Timeless Thoughts

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 30, 2007

New as foam, old as a rock
Poems, and quotes around the clock
Truth written as it is spoken,
Mends the hearts, which have been broken

How many will read what we think
While we try to preserve in ink
An old memory, or a new love,
Or ages past that we may think of.

Water flowing past the stone
Creates the bubbles we have known
Purifying what time has brought
Briefly as with each passing thought

Warmth, and wind blowing free,
With all the elements we can see
Makes the world seem so divine
Mysteriously in grand design

Spirits wander like turbulent foam
Searching forever for an eternal home
Lessons are better learned before we rest
Timeless thoughts must pass the test

Peace flows in passionate streams
While beauty lies within our dreams
The Creator creates with timeless thoughts
Yet the new only knows what the old allots

This is what I call Poetry. The words ran so smoothly together and that there is amazing. I feel that this poem will be heard down the road.
