Your name

by Christina   Jul 31, 2007

I hide my face in shame,
At the slightest mention of your name.
Because I opened up to you,
Just so you could get rid of me too.

How do you hide a broken heart?
From the person that tore you apart.
How do you face all the pain?
And what in the end do you gain.

Agree with your every word,
Wishing to fly away with that blue bird.
When you drown in your own tears,
Who is there to save you from your fears?

With pain streaked upon my face,
My heart keeps up the pace.
And knowing in my soul,
That never again will I be whole.

Tears will never truly be able to say,
Everything that was on my mind that day.
So I will turn my head in shame,
Because I can’t stand to hear your name.
