Thanks to My Infirmities

by audrey harris   Jul 31, 2007

It is my infirmities
that have led me here,
and all of my lost battles
that helped me conquer fears.

And it is all of these struggles
that make people strong
and multiply the last nerve,
make the short rope long.

If there weren't the bad times,
we never would recognize the good.
Friends would become less prominent,
no one would care that the little engine could.

If not for the losers,
no one would ever win.
If not for all of our failures,
there'd be no accomplishments.

It is our infirmities
that make us who we are,
show us how to live,
and, in the end, will carry us far.
