Promises

by Christina Yap   Jul 31, 2007

Promises are a comfort to a fool

And I have always been that fool to believe

Every

Single

Promise

You made me

You promised me this

Promised me that

Promised me surprises

That was soon forgotten

Promises,

Promises,

Promises,

Promises

That’s all that you have to give

I promised to be yours forever

To wait for you

For you to prove your love

But how can you prove something so grand

If you can’t fulfill mere promises?

Please stop taking my love for granted

Please stop taking me for a fool

For I can only take so much

Promises are promises

And I believe they should be kept

But just like you

I can break my promises too

I feel that this poem is not finished yet. There is a lot of emotion into this poem.
    I miss the flow.
But it is a good poem.
