My Heart Still Waits [Kyrielle Sonnet]

by Twisted Heart   Jul 31, 2007

Upon the mist of shadows cry
Along the trail of stars at night
My heart has taken up in flight
To sing a lonely lullaby.

No soul to share the moon tonight
As tears fall soft and crystallize
Against the heart behind the eyes
Tainted song of mere pain's delight.

Tender soul, in despair, I cry
Tears blanket shadows in the night
No faith has come to give me sight
Torn from the soul, this lullaby.

Sad heart to wait upon the night
Moonless shadows fall from my eyes.
