Already Screwed [Terza Rima]

by Andrew Morton   Aug 1, 2007

Patiently waiting through days of temptation
nothing in clear view of one's trues desires
that we see can only lead to complications

but still we pray, constanly feeding the fire
only to find that we continue to burn
but until we learn, it will only get higher

watching as the world slowly starts to turn
still stuck in the lies we allow to be fed
leading to lessons that should have been learned

laying awake while we're stuck in our beds
still wishing to dream of sweet solitude
but only thoughts of the past remain in our heads

so much we could do, but no reason to feud
cause i've come to find that we're already screwed

I liked the structure for this. And I loooooove the concept. Once again your rhymes have been done very effortlessly. I love it.

Very sad piece you have penned.

laying awake while we're stuck in our beds
still wishing to dream of sweet solitude
but only thoughts of the past remain in our heads

    These lines really touched me.
    Excellent!
