Daddy Daddy

by Brittany   Aug 1, 2007

I close my eyes
All I see
In your near future
Is death

You think your invincible
But one of these days
It will be all be to much

You will have drank So much that night
You will never wake
To see the days light

One of these days
The drugs You took
Will take it's toll
And you will never
Live to see your baby girl again

She wakes up
Crawls out of bed
So little
And sweet
She makes her way
To daddy's bedroom

Daddy daddy
She pleads with
The still body
On the bed
Daddy daddy please
Don't be dead

19 years later
She gets in her car
Tears glistening in her eyes
That little girl not so little anymore

Look at me daddy
She says to the sky
Look at what
I've become, without you

5 years later
She walks down
The aisle
all by her self
Tears rolling down
Her pink cheeks
Her groom
Awaiting her

She looks up at
The stars
Her only wish
That her daddy Could have been there

If only he was invincible
If only he drank less
He might be here
To wish me good night

This poem well it was written away ago but i have done some editing on it since the first posting.

I really like this poem..its so sad..im so sorry this is something that you are going through.

i think you need to fix "latter" to later in a few places..and "mite" to might...

    overall good poem.
