You'll Be Mine

You'll Be Mine

There are so many stories
Lies told to give us hope,
Provide us with security
And an unstable way to cope.

But, boy if they were true
Oh, all the pleasures I'd find.
And maybe just for once
The hope that you'll be mine.

So somewhere over the rainbow
Next to the pot of gold
Are my wishes on the stars
Within the leprachaun's hold.

And in some fairytale
Is a picture of me and you.
I hate the lies portrayed...
'Cause that won't come true.

I'd love to believe them...
The falsehoods meant to heal
But when I face the world
I know that they aren't real.
