The Moon and Sun (A Sonnet)

by Vodka   Aug 1, 2007

The Moon shines down in it's inconstant orb.
Unlike the Moon, garish Sun doth not change.
The Sun's light, the Moon doth try to absorb.
The Stars in terror, try to rearrange.
The Moon doth phase itself much too often.
Like the Sun, the Moon also tries to shine.
The light of the Sun doth sometimes soften.
Shimmer of the Moon, has yet to decline.
The Sun grows too weak to bear anymore.
The Moon comes up, it's trumpets still blaring.
Little children watch as the strong Moon soars.
The Moon's brilliant light keeps on glaring.
So long as Moon rises and children see,
The Moon's always here, and gives light to thee.

(This one took me forever to write, each line has ten syllables and the rhyming was really hard to fit in. I'm pretty proud of this one.)

"Shimmer of the Mon, has yet to decline."
    Did you mean Moon there?

Other than that I think this was brilliant! I could never write a sonnet! I could try but never come close to anything as good as this! Brandy you really have a great talent here! A beautiful sonnet by a beautiful daughter of God....great job!
