The Cold War of You & I.

by HiS 0N3 4ND 0NLY 021407   Aug 2, 2007

My heart was beating fast
Much like my racing mind
You pointed it out to me
As you gently touched my spine

A smile ran across your lips
I caught it with my tongue
Your fingers danced around my hips
My body became numb

We always walked a thin line
Between list & despise
A competition fierce
Highlighted with our lies

The stars were not aligned that day
I didn't even flinch
Planets did not crash or sway
My heart an open trench

The minutes remained minutes
Between warface & romance
I could not let you go
Entrapped within your trance

But as history repeats itself
In the case of each cold war
Accumulating casualties
Each side's fated to endure

I have not heard your voice since then
I have not touched nor smelles your skin

You chalked it up as victory
Your hasty move in jest
You thought I may have loved you
In fact, it was
DETEST
