Remnants of a Broken Friendship

by blackheartslove   Aug 2, 2007

Standing on the edge of this cliff
Waiting for gravity to take me down
I'm so sick of pretending that I'm okay
Because no one can see that it is a lie

But there is another person
Who can't see through the fog
I've been lying to myself
And believing every word

I picked you as my best friend
The one I told everything to
The one who was always there for me
The one who would never judge me

But was I completely wrong about you
For one little difference, one small decision
And you turn your back
And leave a broken friendship behind

Because best friends aren't like that
Not to be torn apart by such small differences
When crashing into a rocky shore could not
But maybe it was never real, could it have all just been a dream?
