Reflections

If only I were prettier
If only I were skinnier
If only I had smaller feet
If only I were taller
I wish I were more athletic

The more I sat and thought about it
The more I came to realize
The key to happiness in this world
Everyone wants what the can't or don't have
But life just doesn't work like that

But what if we like ourselves for who we are
What if no one cared what the other thought
If we all dressed how we wanted
Without a second thought
How much happier would we be

We'd be free from self doubt
Free from scrutiny and degradation
If we loved ourselves as we were
The world would be a better place
Because we'd be happy as we are

Words would slowly start to loose their meaning
We'd finally be free to live our own life
Too many people in our world today
Live not for themselves but for those they wish to impress
If only we could end all that and lead a happier life

The message behind this is so strong.
it really impresses me..i love the fact that you took the time to write about this..and i hope people get that message.
this line especially blew me away:

"Live not for themselves but for those they wish to impress"

that is so stong and very truthful.
i believe we are all perfect the way we are..cause those small imperfections make us that much better..they make us real (not a machine).
    great job on this!
keep writting because i can tell you are great at it. and it's also a healthy way to release emotions.
