A bright blue sky way above
A cool breeze blowing
The suns rays reaching down
Its warmth and glow on my skin
Beauty wrapping way around me
A single tear rolls down
Such beautiful life around me
But I still feel all alone
The world in closing in around me
All I can see is dark clouds overhead
The fear of darkness pushing away the light
Not wanting to hurt anymore
Slowly slipping backwards into the darkness
I wait at a crossroads in life
I will reach for the light
I want to see the sun
A ray of sunlight hits the ground
Pushing away the darkness
Hope is on the horizon
Stretching before me—a long journey ahead
Even though hard at times
Trouble on the way
I will hold on
Cause darkness only lasts where the light cannot reach
But light only reaches where the trees are not thick
So I’m slowly letting go
Going off to bed with the hope inside my heart
I promise I will wake up in the morning
