Forever in the Darkness

by blackheartslove   Aug 2, 2007

I hold the knife in my hand
I run my finger over the blade
I see a girl staring back
A tear-stained face reflected

No longer will she smile and laugh
Only tears fill her eyes
Gone is the happiness in her life
Only sadness to fill her days

I fill the blade cool and sharp
It rips across my skin
The pain comes searing hot
A crimson river rushing out

As the blood runs down my skin
Salty tears race down my cheeks
Mixing together in a beautiful pool
Draining away my hurt and sorrow

The light around me is growing dim
I lay back and close my eyes
My sight is slowly failing
As I draw my final breath

Finally it’s over
No more hurt and sadness
No more tears of grief
Only darkness—
Surrounding me,
Comforting me,
Forever
