Things I'll Never Say (Rondeau)

by Jenni Marie   Aug 2, 2007

So many things that I'll never say, words that will never pass my lips
Rage eating away at me as you rub suggestively against her hips
I'm supposed to be the one you love, so how can you do this?
When I get the strength to leave, darling, it'll be me you miss
Know it wont be long, cause on you I'm slowly losing grip

You stand holding my heart, unaware it's about to slip
Do you even care it's about to shatter, tear and rip?
We've become such a mess,we used to live in perfect bliss
So many things that I'll never say

Thought this time I'd be safe, now I'm about to trip
Your actions hitting me harder than the strongest whip
Are you aware it's the little things that I miss?
Simultaneously wondering why I fell for your tainted kiss
And still praying, on my heart you wont lose your grip
So many things that I'll never say

Rondeau- is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a
sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short - a
refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the
same metrical length).

Amazing! Really nice format to use. Emotional and topic that you used, I think everyone can relate to it, so makes it touching. Flawless just! Really blew me away :)!

This poem is BRILLIANT but this here^^ is what really spoke to me.
Things with my bf are more than perfect now, I no longer have any doubts. But his friend and his gf are always fighting - always on and off. He cheats on her, she cheats on him etc etc. and these lines are what reminds me of that and how I never want that to happen to me again. It brings up old insecurities that I once had, but now don't and they really speak to me.
I love this poem. It's great. I've never read a Rondeau before and I like it. No. I LOVE it.
    Awsome job 5/5
