My Love Life

by On Cupids Bad Side   Aug 2, 2007

Well, it all started when I was about six,
I had just started school, and I was in the mix.
Running after little boys in the schoolyard,
It was just puppy love, it really wasn't hard.

Then in fourth grade, I had my first big crush,
Every time I looked at him, I got a little rush.
I still remember that time he held my hand,
But then my family moved, so that came to an end.

Then there was that boy with eyes so blue,
I was so in love, I thought I had the flu.
But I wasn't the only girl wanting his affection,
So those blue eyes never looked in my direction.

After that, I swore I'd never love again,
I was brokenhearted, and I was only ten.
And I kept my promise up until ninth grade,
When I fell back into love, unsuspecting and unafraid.

But this new boy told me I wasn't his type.
And late at night my tears I'd wipe.
Thinking that I will be alone for life,
And no one will ever want me as his wife.

So my heart was in bad shape until I turned sixteen,
When I met the cutest boy I had ever seen.
He made me feel wanted, even though he wasn't my man.
He healed my heart and showed me I could love again.

Even though we're now apart and both moved on,
The impression he left on me isn't all yet gone.
I will love again someday, it's not a lie,
I just have to find that one special guy.

Love the positive ending! I think it's kind of cute how you tell the stages of your love....and it shows how we heal and move on. Nice piece!
