Action of a Tear [Double Huitain]

by Twisted Heart   Aug 3, 2007

Tears slip from dark eyes of sorrow
To rest upon a cheek so fair
Shattered faith of lost tomorrows
Inside a soul haunts pure despair
A simple tear the heart to spare
As surely as sad nights shall weep
No comfort to her soul is shared
No dreams to tend of fantasy

Just hunger for the life she knew
A distant thought or memory
Now comes the pain of solitude
Fast holding for her soul to see
With tears that fall upon her dream
Invade every thought she holds
A tear so silent and serene
Lends comfort to her very soul.

Although this was a sad poem, it was written so beautifully. It is also the first poem written in the style of a Huitain that I've read, but I thought it was a marvelously written poem.
