Sacrifices

by Twisted Heart   Aug 3, 2007

Heart's rendering has come to pass
Inside a soul of pain and strife
Among shards of broken glass
Littered thoughts in mind collide.

Tarnished silence stays fast the night
Distant dreams are lost and vacant
Tempered flickers from moonlight
Upon hope and faith forsaken.

Tender beats that claim burnt sorrow
Flames smothering the very breath
Recollects lost tomorrows
Feigning with cold hands caress.

Mere hunger tears food of life
Thirst has come in solace dark
No longer struggling midst the fight
Between the mind, soul, and heart.

In darkness still the battles done
As shadows rest upon remains
N'er word of hope and faith begun
But corpses that mere life has claimed.

I actually found this poem to be very confusing. The vocabulary you used was excellent, however, so I'll give you that. :) I think the title fit appropriately too.
