20 Years In Hell

by Dan   Aug 3, 2007

In the gloom of his cell.
The prisoner sits.
Convicted of a crime.
He didn't commit.

Years of rape.
Years of murder.
A story changed.
By an anonymous crusader.

Told he had killed.
Caused pain and havoc.
The man sits broken.
No light on his features.

In solitude he sits.
Unable to make a sound.
Memories touch him.
He sinks to the ground.

He weeps his tears.
No family or home.
This muscle bound thug.
Reduced to a gnome.

Hatred stored.
In a hidden well.
Bubbles and boils.
And prepares to erupt.

He is taken to the yard.
An hour of freedom.
He seeks a way out.
Of this fortified kingdom.

He searches and looks.
And finds a pipe.
He runs through the sewer.
His heart becomes bluer.

He exits at last.
Free from his boundries.
This man is free.
This man is empty.

With a cheer he runs.
With dogs on his tail.
He rolls down a hill.
A bullet in his back.
