Fallen Angel-And now here we see

by ctmskm   Aug 3, 2007

And now here we see,
a sad picture as an angel sings,
under the limbs of a willow tree.
Another broken angel without her wings.
She has fallen and is now sitting in plain sight.
With a dried Rose held in hand,
A symbol of another lost night.
She sits there as we watch her sing,
the hymns for the fallen,
and the torture that she must bring.
Held captive, for her god will no longer take her.
Held captive, For now her fear will only embrace her.
Tears of innocence shed upon each cheek,
with each breath she finds it harder to sing or even speak.
And with the little strength that she has left.
She speaks these words, breath by breath.

"Help me please,
they have sent me here to find my way back,
but I fear I can not do it alone, not even that.
You are here now, but you will soon go,
for my hymns of the fallen will soon grow old.
You all will survive together,
throughout the rain, sleet, and snow.
But for me things will only get worse.
Because for me, this is my hermitic curse."

The rose held in her hand, soon turns to ash.
Her beauty starts to decline in quality and vigor,
and she sees her life before her flash.
In one blink of an eye, she is gone.
Lightning has struck the willow tree.
A few of us had stayed until dawn,
so that we could see.
But there was nothing left of her,
just a few dozen roses scattered
where she had sat in plain sight,
a symbol of where an angel once fell,
on a long and starry night.
