The Shadow Of Ignorance

I tried to avoid you because I didn't want to feel your pain.
I fell victim to my happiness knowing that I'd see you again.
I let others wait on you and inquired how that you fared.
I watched in the shadows because I was ignorant of care.
I was high and mighty; Thinking of scripture and verse.
I could see only my view but was blinded by the reverse.
