Paper Wings

by *Charisma*   Aug 4, 2007

Paper wings is all I've got.
Carry me far, I fear they'll not.
Yellowed by light, weakened by rain
Can't hold the weight of all my pain.

Blank of all thought, white with no words.
Left to imagine, what I keep unheard.
Filled with a hope destined for doom
My heart's fire, the edges consume.

Too bad it's too weak and not made of stone.
Paper wings aren't enough to take me home.
I think I'll just fall into a river of tears.
These wings couldn't save me from all of my fears.
