Who Are We or Which of Us

by Mr M   Aug 4, 2007

Who are we that we decide
Where beauty rests and upon whose face
Or if to beauty, we show great pride
And to ugliness stain such foul disgrace?

Who are we that a mark is made
Dividing each one to their accord?
Who for beauty, will not ugliness trade,
The price of which we'd desperately afford?

Which of us are quite so cold
To say that ugliness is most unfair?
Who is to say that ugliness is too ugly to behold
Or that such disgrace too beautiful to bear?

I like this poem a lot! I've never heard another poem on this subject. Its really interesting. You're a great writer. I'll read your others when I am done writing the twelve essays I have due tomorrow =[ haha. That will be my motivation to stop procrastinating :)

Outer beauty is so over rated compared to what you find on the inside,I loved the content of this poem.

    Great poem.
Ther is truth in your words.

" Which of us are quite so cold
To say that ugliness is most unfair?
Who is to say that ugliness is too ugly to behold
Or that such disgrace too beautiful to bear? "
