Midnight Scribble

by xx Danii xx   Aug 4, 2007

As the old clock starts to chime
my thoughts turn to the past
how i believed it wouldn't change
that the good days would always last

five minutes till the clock
suddenly settles on the nought
memories of my dear life
the battles i won and fought

a memory which lasted days
replayed in a minute in my head
"nothing lasts forever"
the old saying, you always said

four minutes till i close my eyes
a minute to reflect the pain
the thousands of tears i cried
the scars that will always remain

a smile grows on my face
a face i suddenly remember
the laughter, fun and friendship
the cold, but fun times in november

three minutes till it all finishes
all the dreams, the unfinished ends
the sad goodbyes, the lost hellos
the unforgettable friends

then i see my one love
the one i wanted from the start
butterflies, kisses, the lost nights
the one who captured my heart

as two minutes slowly approaches
i think about people i now forget
all the hidden stories
and my one true regret

as my life flashes before me
and now one minute here
even though i found true love
i let it all disappear

with my final one minute
i watch the never-ending rain
because i let my love go
and forever i die of pain

so has i die of a broken heart
with my lasts words i say
when you find your true love
don't let it slip away

i close my eyes
my story here for you to nibble
of love, laughter, tears and you
my final midnight scribble

That was sad ,left a tear in my eye and yet beautifully done ,well done.
