Remember The Lotus

by Brooke Mason   Aug 4, 2007

A day so bright
A night so cold
A tragic story
One so old

Of two lovers entwined
Ensnared by love
A sparkling angel
Sent from above

Petals so soft
Moonlight so bright
He carried her off
Into the night

They loved with a love
That nobody could know
Even if they loved
Each other so

He gave her a ring
She smiled and said
"I'll be yours forever
Until the day I am dead"

Now as she sits
beneath a lotus tree
A bloom in her hands
Caressed by the breeze

Her tears start to fall
Onto the lotus bloom
Knowing the story's end
Of it's empending doom

She sits there alone
Beneath the shadow of a tree
The lotus flower in her hands
A fallen angel she be

Remembering the lotus
Brings back so much pain
And the kiss they once shared
In the pouring rain

This story comes to an end
A bittersweet tale
Of two lovers entwined
And of a lotus that fell
