A poem for today

by Hannah Emellia   Aug 4, 2007

It's always hard to say goodbye,
But it's the end of the line for me,
The words are getting hard to use,
Perhaps they'll cease to be.

What used to come so easy,
Is fading into dark,
And I'll never write another word,
If I don't have a spark.

Something I once needed,
Is locked inside my mind,
It's the meaning in my poems,
It's the thing that I can't find.

Once I used these words to free,
The feelings in my heart,
But now they turn to ashes,
And I wonder where to start.

My letters where once colors,
And I tried to paint the sky,
But as I started writing,
My emotions all ran dry...

Beautiful ending, you described emotions wonderfully. You used -word- and -words- too many times. Anyway great piece, third stanza is my favorite. It is really deep and emotional. It deserves 5/5

In the last stanza first line I think you meant "were" instead of "where."

I really like this poem. I like the last stanza the best. Writing something more than just words is a great thing, and how you said that all your emotions ran dry and now you cant write....thats so sad!

    keep it up!!
