Going Downhill

by adaylate   Aug 5, 2007

I won't let you down,
I know I said that last time,
You can count on me,
I know I said that last time,
And last time,
Along with all the times before that,
I let you down.

It won't happen again,
I'll do better,
I'll get it together,
Get a grip,
I won't forget this time.
If you only knew...
No.
No more excuses,
There are no more,
I've stretched it to the limit,
And I can see your face,
And it asks me,
"What happened?"
Do my eyes say the same thing?
Do they wonder why?
Do they hold that deadly dissappointment
That I see in yours?
Do they tell you exactly what I'm thinking,
How I'm feeling?
If they do, I'll close them,
Because if you knew what I was thinking,
That'd be the greatest dissappointment of all.
