Just something I wrote

Can you see me now?
Look with your eyes, speak not with your mouth,
it's time about me the truth you've found out.
You spend your days in denile and deceit,
not realizing you stage your own defeat.
I watch you, not watching me, and I pray that maybe you will open your eyes one day.
you view the world around you with eyes wide shut,
as everything around you turns to dust.
Can you see me now?
Look with your heart, not with your mind;
find that missing person you left behind.
You search for one you feel will make you complete,
when completing yourself is what you need.
Can you see me now?
I am different from you,
yet I love you still.
You despise all that bends not to your will.
You fret, cause you know I will depart from you now.
You can't see yourself, but u wish to see me?
How?

A beautiful poem. When we look at eachother what do we see? A good friend of mine once told me that we can only see what we recognize (the qualities we share), so how much of the other person stays hidden?
