The Drum

by N J Thornton   Aug 5, 2007

There is a drum inside me;
it's pulse echoes my
emotion.

To see eyes
like crystal droplets
reflect the suns warmth
I feel a subtle melody
arise (here) within.

And to feel tender
petals; rosy and pure
brush my skin,
that melody becomes
a harmony that we both
can hear.

So, come my sweet,
and dance with me,
to the sound of passion;
emotion.
Then let me carry you
to the end of our rainbow
where hopes are turned
to colour.
And as I hold you
in my embrace, my dear

listen...
What do you hear?

    This is a masterpiece. The passion drawn out by the character is very alluring, along with remarkable allegories and lovely diction. The tone of voice is strikingly poignant and emotions raw and well conveyed. I truly enjoyed this delightful piece, Miss Silver.
