Don't give up on me yet

Every night i would wish for love
i would stare at that star
but if i had opened my eyes
i would have realized i didn't have to look far

"can't you see hes perfect"
my heart would always yell
and when i stared in your eyes
you put me under your spell

but love always comes second to me
in life, i wanted the glory
blocked out my feelings
i didn't want a love story

but i couldn't expect you to wait
and i guess that's okay
"love is for fools"
well thats what i say

but i was living a painful lie
because now my heart is bruised
I'm left wishing on the star
feelings lonely, feeling confused

there's more to life than fame
and hopefully its you i will find
and that in time
"what ifs" will leave my mind

so before you leave
i don't want you to forget
that its you who i want
so don't give up on me yet
