Beauty in Her Tears

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Aug 7, 2007

She sits alone and dreams of airplanes and boats,
With his fingerprints engraved onto her throat,
And her shattered heart beats through the debris,
As she looks through her battered eyes to me.

"I know what you`re going to say, the answer is no,"
She says as she lowers her head and turns to go,
Lacking all the courage and fearing the next fight;
She runs back into his iron-clad arms tonight.

And I just wish that I could get her too see,
What her bruises and anguish are doing to me,
So afraid of loneliness, she needs to feel something;
And the yelling and punching is better than nothing.

How he can find beauty in her tears, nobody knows,
But on her body, the affects of alcohol clearly shows;
And she wants to get away on the next early flight;
But without his voice, she doesn`t feel right.

So I watch her walk away with a big fake grin,
Wearing a jacket and sunglasses to hide her skin;
She`s ashamed of who she`s become, it`s easy to see,
But yet my Sister turns to him instead of to me.

    This was just beautiful, i loved the first phrase, 'she sits alone and dreams of airplanes and boats' that was an amazing start to the poem, it makes you think of the subject as longing for the innocence of being a child. the flow was really good too, and the emotion behind the poem was really strong and beautiful.
