A Dark Rain Falls

by yoyi   Aug 7, 2007

I take my chance with the rain outside,
Cooler than the emotion that I must hide,
Walking through the brisk night air,
Feeling the wind brushing my hair.

How I wish that I could hold you,
Lighten the many shades of blue,
Shake my head to kill this pain,
And purge my mind of this dark rain.

These thoughts, I know, can never be,
You've always had much better than me,
Still, I lie awake deep into night,
For I have not the strength to fight.

I know that you can never know,
These tender words I cannot show,
I hope you neer know these shades of blue,
You'll always have someone to say "I love you."

To anyone who knows what it's like to love and never have.

"Lighten the many shades of blue,"

^My favourite line. Good gosh, that is so deep and personal to me. I'm not sure if I'm reading too far into it, but amazing job with that.

I liked the poem, it seemed smooth to me. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but eventually you will find someone to love who loves you back. It's sad that you think you are not good enough for whomever this poem is about, because it's not true. You -are- good enough: you are a beautiful person who writes beautiful poetry.

Take care of yourself, and keep writing.
    -Jaime :)

PS. With this word: "neer", I would either use "never" or "ne'er". It would be a little easier to understand with either a 'v' or an apostrophe in it.
