Do You Remember

by TrueLover   Aug 7, 2007

Do you remember the day
When you flew far, far away,
Across the universe to California?
I was only five,
But I remember how I cried,
Not just that night, but forever.
Here I am, all of sixteen,
And I still cry about you
You live down the road from us
But I don't hear from you much
I guess that you just don't have time.
Do you remember how much I meant to you?
I remember when I was your princess
You were my knight,
Everything a big brother could be
Since then you've never been around
For any of us to see.
What hurts the most,
Is that you don't care
Do you remember my age
Or the color of my hair?
Do you remember the fact
That our eyes are the same
Or that we both act just like our dad?
I just got my first job,
But I don't think you know
You don't know because I didn't call.
If I did, you wouldn't care.
Do you remember the night
When my friend Cole died,
And I called you to tell you how?
He was speeding, just like you do
And I wanted to tell you I love you
You said okay, so I said goodbye.
Do you remember the day
You flew far, far away?
That was the last time you loved me.
