Fear

by Purple   Aug 7, 2007

She has no clue why she's here
sitting on these steps
She doesn't know why she worries
Causing the meaningless tears she wept

All she knows is that she cares
Cares so much that she's frightened
She's whispering to herself
As the pressure in her head tightens

She thinks of all she can lose
By saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment
She tells herself this is silly
It's too complex for her to blow it

She promises herself she won't lie
Promises herself she'll stay honest, and open
She thinks this is will keep things fair
At least that is what she's hopin'

Rain comes down strong and calming
She can't bring herself to go inside
Drenched she sits still whispering
"There's nothing movement can bring"

Inside sweet Melody's play
And the reason she's scared smiles and dances
She realizes how rare this commodity is
And wonder's if there are even any chances

Happiness sits next to tragedy
Either or takes a moment to happen
Encouraging thoughts whisper through
But her logic just keeps her head laughing

Fear builds to a paralyzing degree
She wishes she didn't care so much
Logic fights logic and emotion battles
Sending her slow thought's into a rush

Pressure building inside her head
She finds herself heading inside
Her secrete she whispers quietly and sober
Secrete let loose, she has nothing to hide
