Tired Of Dealing With the Pain

by Vanessa   Aug 8, 2007

Anger danced wildly in his blue Grey eyes
His nostrils flared, and his hands shook with rage
All he could hear was her chilling cries
Rushing to her to find her dead, among the sage

Dropping to his knees, head lowered in sorrow
He grips her stiffing corpse to his chest
Vengeance will be his if he has to beg, steal, or borrow
Only then will he take time to deal with he rest

Eyes still stinging from raw emotions flowing
Lips quacking in pain from his substantial loss
He grabs his chain without even knowing
Says a silent prayer, and kisses his cross

Her lifeless body he gently laid to earth
One finger he used to close her frightened eyes
That night, his soul wept for all he was worth
As in his head reverberated her chilling cries

He flowed tracks, and searched the area for clues
Every lead turned out to be a dead end
Hopelessly lost, he doesn't know what to do
He sought the advice of a trusted friend

His hand slowly turns the knob to Satan's door
His anger, and hate have locked themselves in
Right or wrong doesn't matter anymore
He is stuck fighting a battle he will never win

Anchored to a metal chair, with tape and rope
A frightened young man pleads for his life
As he is shot with needle full of dope
The man screams this is for my wife

The fightened young man now seems so small
almost like a child sweetly sleeping
He can barely move at all
And his bleeding soul is loudly weeping

Convinced his promise had been kept
He took a shower laid down on the bed
Closed his eyes, cleared his mind and slept
Thoughts of her still lingering in his head

Mind still hazy, body moving slow
He sat up on the side of the bed
Watching his cigarette glow
Grabbed his gun, aiming it at his head

The trigger pulled, the hammer hit, the bullet fired
lodging deep inside his now twisted brain
The note he left read "I was so tired
of always dealing with the pain"

Wow, wow, wow! I love it! This is one of the most powerful dark poems I've read, it's going straight to my favs. You're so talented!
I like this piece from the beginning to the end, everything about it is just... perfect. The wording is excellent, and the flow, too. I like the rhymes a lot, they're very creative. The story behind the poem is very interesting and so sad, which makes this piece very emotional. Truly excellent job on this one!

It didn't catch my eye as quickly as your other poems, but it was still a great write. The vocab helped in alot of parts and overall I couldn't find a favorite line in this one, I liked it all :)
