One Day Left

by Jenni Marie   Aug 8, 2007

One day left, nothing to lose
So much to do, what to choose?
No point in asking, already know
Spend it with her, and not in woe

Hugging, laughing, kissing, crying
Never alone, not even when dying
Make the most of today, it's all that's left
Try not to think of my last breath

We'd walk along the beach, hand in hand
When she's older she will understand
That even though it's my time to go
Forever and always, I will love her so

*This is about what I would do if I had 24 hours to live. The her referred to in the poem is my little sister.*

Superbly written piece. It is very original and emotions are expressed greatly. Topic is also excellent. It is short but still very powerful. This poem is simple but very deep. It really deserves 5/5
