Where Forever Ends.

by Ironic Allure   Aug 8, 2007

These words weren't written for rhythm;
they're just as bad as they sound,
because I've never felt distance like dysfunction.
the repetition isn't easy and I'm beginning to find,
that it's more a curse that i can read your mind.
lying to myself again,
while you stare down at your own two feet
you've never felt regret like you've felt defeat.
so perhaps this is where forever ends.
I'd steal you away from wherever you are,
but i could search forever to see this far,
and I've seen nicer things than these backwashed photographs,
we're not lost, just missing the point,
but these are the words like I've never hurt before,
and if i find my reasons, it don't matter anymore,
this loss could sink the ocean but I'm sure,
we're wearing thin and caving in,
so perhaps this is where forever ends.
we're stuck between brass knuckles and dreams;
ideally and impossibly,
and i can just about hear it through the silence,
your head is thinking words like violence,
don't you remember; you know more of these things,
well honey, put your money where your mouth is,
your mind's in the clouds and your feet on the ground,
didn't you see the stars all drifting apart,
the distance is stretching and it's pretty far,
these words can't wait until you're miles away,
so please wait a minute,
because I'm not finding a nice way to say i don't love you,
i always have and i always will do,
but it's hard to ignore and harder to pretend,
that this is not where forever ends.

    This reminds me of Ian's poetry somehow. But anyways, I think it's beautifully writen once again. You have a way with words that makes each poem so meaningful. And surely those metaphors add such vivid colours to it. Each line in itself is so powerful and holds such deep emotion. I can really feel this one. It does something to my heart.

    ^That beginning drew me in and it kept my attention all the way to the end. Another amazing poem. Keep it up! =]
