Forgotten

How did the world get so cold?
When once it felt
Like nothing could go wrong

How did our hearts shatter this way?
And got left broken
Lacking the love to keep them together

How did our poor souls get neglected?
And get overtaken
But a layer of loneliness

Now tell me, how did we lose all hope?
In the midst of it all
Left with nothing but remorse

It seems like everyday that goes by
It gets harder to cope
And we begin to give up

And the light that we once used to see
Is now faint in the distance
And barely visible to us

We are falling, like soldiers
That once were loved
Now forgotten
