You Took Away

by gabriel   Aug 9, 2007

You took away my crazy smile
And changed it with a bottle of wine
It's been like this for so long
But I guess somehow I'll be fine

I sit here in the bar each day
The 'tender recognize
His words I barely hear him say
They sound like the Devil's lies

You took away my crazy smile
And swapped a keg of ale
I've been at it ever since
Receiving those papers in the mail

You say you just want the kid
The car and Fido too
Now I'm just wondering
What went wrong with me and you

You took away my crazy smile
And set my house on fire
Claiming it was my own doing
They're all calling me a liar

I came back feeling sore
But I couldn't find the door
It was when I found my senses
That was a house no more

You took away my crazy smile
And took away my very child
You burnt down my very home
Without the dog - I'm all alone

So here I'm taken away
From that smile - I'm going crazy today
Maybe I'll be just fine
As long I have my bottle of wine
