I Can Draw Myself [Acrostic]

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Aug 9, 2007

I can name-drop all night long, but you know I

Can`t find the one to fit well enough with your
Attitude, and maybe it`s my fault that I
Never took the time to get to know you, but

Darling, pinning this on me won`t go over
Real well in the end. Your absence is
Already doing the number on me - you
Wore the perfect attire for the part you played on

Me: a black suit for the funeral of hearts; and
You always said that my
Selfish ways would catch up to me in the
End, and this picture I painted in my head of the
Love we once had is dead. But Baby; I can
Forget about you and draw myself: happy.

Your wording in this poem intrigued me.
You plaved metaphors, in a sense, between the lies. whether you intended to or not.
The form was a bit sketchy, but I still was intrigued.
    Very nicely done.
