How Ive grown

My My how I have grown......

Looking in the mirror all I can see is an old hag staring back at me.
In my heart lies the child I long to be.
Only age stops me from being what I feel and not what I see.

If only time wasn't so quick
If I hadn't aged as fast as I had.

I stare in the mirror and see a child.
If only I were older then Id be known.
Id have status
be a grown up.
Inside I am an adult but my face shows a child why cant I be older..... why.... why....why.......

I look into the mirror and am happy with what I see.
I am 16 and have my life to live and thats how I want to be.
I feel as old as I am and will live each day as though I were this age because being here is where I'm happiest
And thus here in my heart is where I Will stay.
Forever 16 on each birthday.
