Just a little boy

by Independence Forever   Aug 9, 2007

After a long day his desk is now clean
bills, and proposals are all he's seen

"after all I'm president" he let out a sigh
with all the work he'd rather just die

wait, there's a forgotten paper on the top
he had pushed it aside, not willing to stop

a simple note, colored red, white, and blue
a child's message asking "what can i do?"

the president sobbed, throat clenched tight
he never saw his job this way, seen it right

the highest honor, the greatest toy
should be paid to this patriotic boy

I enjoyed reading this touching write. We should all ask "what can I do". Time is of the essence if we are to win,, never back down,,,charge, charge till it ends.
